MARRIED
Last week at Paisley in Scotland, the Rev. Mr. CLARKSON, minister at Air; to
Miss Peggy WALKER of Paisley, one of the most celebrated beauties of the
age.
[According to ScotlandsPeople, John CLARKSON and Margaret WALKER married on
28 Dec 1776 at Paisley Burgh or Low.]
Lately, Freeman BOWER, Esq. of Doncaster, to Miss PEARSON of Tyers Hill,
with a fortune of 14,000 l.
[According to FamilySearch, Freeman BOWER and Mary PEARSON married on 18 Jan
1777 at Darfield, Yorkshire.]
In Scotland, Mr. CRISHOP of Darlington, to Miss CROWE, only daughter of the
late Christ. CROWE, of Kipling, Esq. an heiress entitled to an estate of
4000 l. per annum.
A few days ago at Whitchurch in Shropshire, Mr. Samuel HILEY, aged 92; to
Miss Eliz. WILLIAMS, only 82; this is only Mr. HILEY's 4th wife.

13 Jan 1777 at Whitchurch.]
DIED
Last week, at Appleby, Daniel ROBINSON, Esq. Under Sheriff of the county of
Westmorland, a gentleman universally esteemed and beloved.

Jan 1777 at St. Laurence, Appleby.]
Last week, in Newcastle, Mrs. ELLISON, mother of the Rev. Mr. ELLISON,
lecturer of St. Andrew's in that town.
[According to FamilySearch, Mary ELLISON was buried on 29 Jan 1777 at St.
Nicholas, Newcastle upon Tyne.]
Mr. Arch. HAMILTON, merchant in Glasgow.
[According to ScotlandsPeople, Archibald HAMILTON, aged 43, died on 27 Jan
1777 at Glasgow.]
Same place, Mr. John YOUNG, senr. merchant.
[According to ScotlandsPeople, John YOUNG, aged 60, died on 31 Jan 1777 at
