Sunday last at Ennerdale, by the Rev. Mr. MOSSOP, Mr. Lancelot SUMPTON of
Hatfel-End; to Miss Jane STEELE of Graystone; an agreeable young lady with a
handsome fortune. 
[According to the Copeland Registers Index, Lancelot SUMPTON of Kinnyside
and Jane STEEL of Ennerdale married on 26 Jan 1777 at Ennerdale.] 
 
DIED 
 
Tuesday last at Cockermouth, after three hours sickness, Mrs. Elizabeth
BELL, wife of Mr. Richard BELL of that place. 
[The only likely burial in the Copeland Registers Index is that of Isabella
BELL, daughter (not wife) of Richard BELL, buried on 30 Jan 1777 at
Cockermouth.]
