Saturday last, at Lowswater church, Mr. Richard SKELTON of Godfred, to Mrs.
PEARSON of High Cross, in the same parish. 
[According to the Copeland Registers Index, Richard SKELTON of Godfred,
Loweswater, yeoman, and Margaret PEARSON of Low Cross, Loweswater, widow,
married on 11 Jan 1777 at Loweswater.] 
 
Yesterday se'ennight at Kirkby in Leicestershire, Ralph MILBANK, Esq. eldest
son of Sir Ralph MILBANK, Bart. to the Hon. Miss NOEL, daughter to the late
Viscount Wentworth, and sister to the present Lord. 
[According to FamilySearch, Ralph MILBANKE of Bannet and Judith NOIL of
Kirkby Mallory married on 09 Jan 1777 at Kirkby Mallory, Leicestershire.] 
 
DIED 
 
A few days ago at Dalton, Mr. Abraham SLATER, a farmer in Low Furness, in
his 90th year: a most valuable member of Society. He has left issue,
children, grand children, and great grand children, a number equal to his
years;-who by copying his example of honesty, sobriety, industry, and care,
in the same vocation, are all growing in wealth and in the esteem of their
neighbours. 
[According to Lancashire OPC, Abraham SLATER of Park was buried on 04 Jan
1777 at St. Mary, Dalton in Furness.] 
 
Last week at Cockermouth, Mrs. BELL, wife of Mr. Isaac BELL, shopkeeper in
that place, one of the people called Quakers. By an exemplary conduct she
was an ornament to her profession; and a life of true piety was her
preparation for death. 
[According to the Quaker Register, Ann BELL, wife of Isaac BELL of
Cockermouth, aged 57, died on 07 Jan 1777 and was buried on 09 Jan 1777 in
Friends Burying-Ground at Cockermouth.] 
 
Friday se'ennight, at Liverpool, Mr. ASPINWALL, sen. an eminent attorney in
that town. 
[According to his headstone at the Ancient Chapel of Toxteth Park, he died
on 03 Jan 1777 aged 70.] 
 
Monday last at Cockermouth, in an advanced age, and greatly regretted, John
LANGTON, Esq. of that place. 
[According to the Copeland Registers Index, John LANGTON of Cockermouth was
buried on 16 Jan 1777 at Brigham.] 
 
Wednesday se'ennight, at Linton in Craven, the Rev. Mr. SMITH, aged 79,
nephew to the late Sir Isaac NEWTON. 
[According to FamilySearch, the Rev. Mr. Benjamin SMITH was buried on 07 Jan
1777 at Linton in Craven, Yorkshire.]
