I find this quite interesting, as my wife has BROCK(LE)BANK ancestors from 
the Silecroft/Whicham area, one being an Agnes BROCKLEBANK daughter of Thomas 
BROCKLEBANK and Agnes JACKSON, baptised at Whicham 17 Dec 1737. 

I'm not sure how far Torpenhow is from Whicham, but I wondered if there might 
be a connection.
