Suddenly, on Thursday morning last, at Blackwell, near this city, Mrs. Sarah IRVING, advanced in years.
At Kirkoswald, on the 21st ult. Mr. John JEFFERSON, aged 31, greatly respected.
On Wednesday last, at Lonning, Mary, wife of Mr. Robert HIND, in the 58th year of her age. Her benevolent disposition endeared her
to all who knew her, and in her death, the poor have lost a liberal benefactress.
At Wigton, on the 21st ult., Mrs. SMITH, aged 86. Same place, on Saturday last, Miss WAITE, at an advanced age. At Crookdake, near
Wigton, Mrs. Sarah WAITE, aged 87.
On Monday last, at Penrith, Mr. Thomas ALLINSON, aged 76. Same place, on Saturday last, Deborah, wife of Mr. Jonathan DIXON.
On Tuesday last, at Penrith, (whilst on a visit,) Mr. George CHARLES, in the 49th year of his age; many years an excise officer at
Liverpool.
At Hesket-New-Market, on Wednesday se'nnight, much respected, Jane, wife of Mr. Jonathan IVISON, aged 64 years.
At his father's house, in Irish-street, Whitehaven, Thomas, eldest son of John PONSONBY, Esq. aged 17.
In High-street, Whitehaven, Ann, relict of the Rev. R. BROCKLEBANK, aged 86.
On the 25th ult., at Saltcoats, in the parish of Drigg, Mr. Jacob BROWNRIGG, aged 84 years.
At Kendal, suddenly, Mr. Robt. BRAITHWAITE, tanner.
At Newland, near Ulverstone, Agnes, wife of Mr. James TOWERS, aged 68.
Suddenly, Jonathan, eldest son of the late Mr. Wm. MILNER, of Eggleston Abbey, near Greta Bridge.
On the 20th ult., in Bond-street, Newcastle, Mr. James HALL, grocer, whose wife was unfortunately killed three weeks ago, by the
overturning of a gig. Four young children are thus left destitute.
Sunday evening last, at his house, in High Friars'-street, Newcastle, aged 88, Mr. Wm. SMITH. An ample competency, realised in early
life, had enabled this venerable man, agreeably to his own benevolent wish, to devote his intelligent mind and activities, with his
entire leisure, to the temporal and spiritual good of his fellow-creatures; and during the greater part of half a century, his life
had been one prolonged act of beneficence in visiting the sick, instructing the ignorant, and relieving the distressed.
At Castletown, Isle of Man, Mr. Thomas HUNTER, master of the Alert. At Douglas, aged 47, Mrs. BROWN, mother of the Rev. R. BROWN.
On Monday last, at Annan, after a short illness, Mr. William HENDERSON, aged 63; much respected.
At Moat of Annan, on the 19th ult., David STEUART, Esq. formerly merchant in, and Lord Provost of Edinburgh, aged 78 years.
At Dumfries, Agnes, daughter of Mr. John THOMSON, merchant, aged 2 years. On Sunday last, Catherine, infant daughter of Mr. Geo.
DICKSON, cabinet-maker. On the 29th ult., Sarah, daughter of Mr. D. DICKSON.
At Bilbow, parish of Troqueer, on Monday morning, Miss Eleanor LIDDERDALE, daughter of the late Robertson LIDDERDALE, Esq. of
Castlemilk.
On Sunday last, Mr. John BROADFOOT, meal-dealer, Maxwelltown. On Friday he had been assisting to raise a load of meal at the mills
of Dumfries, and, from the exertion, a blood vessel burst, which ended fatally.
At Moss-side, parish of Holywood, Mr. Thomas MILLER, aged 24.
At Lockerbie, Jean, relict of the late Mr. William CARRUTHERS, merchant, Lockerbie, aged 83.
On Tuesday, the 25th ult., in Cecil-street, Strand, London, Miss H. KILNER, of Ulverstone.
