On the 18th inst. at Houghton Hall, near Carlisle, the Lady of the Rev. James HOUGH, Chaplain to the Honourable the East India
Company, of a Daughter. 

 

On the 20th instant, at Melmerby Hall, in this county, the Lady of Robt. HODGSON, Esq. of a Daughter. 

 

On the 18th June last, at Muttra, in Bengal, the Lady of Captain STEEL, (formerly of Cockermouth,) of the 21st regt. Native
Infantry, of a Daughter.

At Crosthwaite church, on the 13th inst. Mr. Wm. ROBINSON, of High Hill, near Keswick, son of Mr. ROBINSON, Whitehaven and Kendal

Since our last-of typhus fever, Mr. Wm. HUTTON, Shaddongate, aged 46.-Mr. Geo. BEATHAM, of the same place, aged 42.-Ann BARKER, of
Rickergate, aged 35. Mr. Edw. HORSLEY, of Caldewgate, joiner and cabinet-maker, aged 73. 

 

At Maryport-In Catherine-street, on Wednesday se'nnight, Mr. Wm. SMITH, aged 72. In John's Street, on Monday last, Mrs. Eliz. HURST,
aged 74. 

 

On the 11th inst. in London, in his 24th year, Mr. John WALKER, student in the London and Guy's hospitals, son of Mr. M. WALKER,
ship-builder of Whitehaven. 

 

At Hensingham, Mrs. RUDD, wife of Mr. Thomas RUDD, rope-maker. 

 

At Workington, Mrs. Mary CRAKEPLACE, 78. Mr. John OSBORNE, grocer, 28. Margt. SUMPTON, 79. 

 

At Corkickle, Miss Jane MANN, aged 23. 

 

At Lowbridge End, in St. John's near Keswick, on the 11th inst. Mr. Christopher JACKSON, aged 84. 

 

At Lancaster, aged 84, the Rev. James THOMAS A. B. Vicar of Bolton-by-the-Sands. Mr. THOMAS was for nearly 50 years curate of the
parish church of Lancaster, which situation he resigned on being appointed by the vicar of that parish to St. John's chapel. 

 

At Dumfries, on the 8th inst. Robert JACKSON, Esq. Comptroller of Customs, and for many years proprietor and editor of the Dumfries
Weekly Journal. In private society few men were either more brilliant or more generally acceptable; and, as Dugald STEWART remarks
of BURNS, his conversation, whether illuminated by wit or fraught with argument, "always bore the stamp of a vigorous
understanding." 

 

Same place, Margaret, the infant daughter of Mr. M'GHIE, surgeon.-Mr. James M'KUNE, who for several years past had the charge of the
Reading Rooms. 

 

At Edgemuir, parish of Johnstone, on the 14th inst. aged 45, Mr. Ninian HALLIDAY, farmer & cattle dealer. 

 

At Kittyfield, Roxburghshire, on the 12th inst. in the 90th year of his age, Mr. David MINTO, for about half a century farmer of
Langlie, near Selkirk.
