At Penrith, on the 22nd inst., Mr. Isaac DODD, of Armathwaite, to Miss Jane WILSON, of Penrith. 

 

At Whitehaven, Mr. W. BOWMAN, to Miss Ann BELL. Mr. W. FEARON, to Miss M. HESLOP. 

 

Saturday, at Brigham, Mr. James SHEPHERD of that place, to Miss M. MUNCASTER of Cockermouth. 

 

Lately, Mr. Richard BENNETT, of Crosthwaite, to Miss BENSON, of Troutbeck. The wedding day has from time immemorial been accounted a
day of ease and pleasure; but this was an exception to the general rule. For the bridegroom procured the licence on the Sunday, went
to Bowness, and was married on the Monday. Reached home that evening.-Fetched the Doctor from Kendal at two o'clock next morning.
Went to Witherslack, for the baby linen at day-break next day. And his horse died from over-fatigue the night following. [They were
married at Windermere on 28 Jul 1823. The bride's forename was Rachel. Ann BENNETT, daughter of Richard and Rachel, was baptised at
Crosthwaite and Lyth on 14 Aug 1823.]
