The article appears to have been lifted wholesale from the Cumberland Pacquet, and there was no more information in that paper.

The Copeland Registers Index has his burial on 15 Oct 1823 at St. Nicholas, Whitehaven; he was aged 21 and of Newhouses.

You could try the Durham Mining website although if the local newspaper has no more detail then I doubt the Durham Mining website will. But you never know.
