At St. Cuthbert's Church, in this city, on Thursday last, Mr. Charles Samuel CAVE, to Miss Mary CAPE. 

 

On Saturday last, at Stanwix, by the Rev. Mr. HUDSON, Mr. ROBINSON of Cargo-hill, to Miss Ann BLYTHE of Ann's-hill. 

 

At Thorsby, on Thursday se'nnight, Mr. Richard Henderson PAPE, gardener at Crofton-Hall, to Miss Jane NICHOL, of the same place. 

 

At Edenhall, near Penrith, a few days ago, Mr. GRUNDY, architect, to Miss LAMB, daughter of Mr. LAMB, yeoman, of Langwathby. 

 

At Dacre, near Penrith, on the 24th inst. Mr. John LAIDMAN, of Penrith, to Miss ALLISON, of Stainton, near Penrith. 

 

At St. Bees, Mr. COWMAN, master of the William, of Whitehaven, to Miss Frances FITZSIMMONS of that town.-At Whitehaven, on the 19th
inst., Mr. Joseph STEPHENSON, to Miss Betsey MOORE. 

 

At Workington, Capt. Charles JACQUES, of the brig Phillis, to Miss CURRY, both of Harrington. 

 

March 17, in Privy Gardens, London, by special licence, Capt. PEEL, of the Grenadier Guards, son of Sir Robert PEEL, Bart. to the
Lady Alice KENNEDY, youngest daughter of the Earl of Cassilis. 

 

On Saturday morning last, at St. Edmund the King, by the Rev. Richard LENDON, A. M., James LAYTON, jun., Esq., to Mary Ann, only
daughter of Benjamin ATKINSON, Esq., of Nicholas Lane, Lombard Street. 

 

DIED, 

 

On Monday last, in English-street, Mrs. Mary PURDY, aged 66 years; sister to Mr. ANDERSON, the Cumberland poet. She suffered a long
and painful illness, and was greatly respected by a numerous acquaintance. 

 

March 20, at Darlington, much and justly regretted, Elizabeth, wife of the Rev. James MILLER, and daughter of Mr. George WAUGH, of
Carlisle. 

 

               With grace blest, and with affliction tried; 

               Calmly she suffered, and serenely died. 

 

In this city, since our last, Mrs. Susannah HODGSON, Sallyport, aged 82. Mrs. Ann HUDSON, Botchergate, aged 80. John CARRUTHERS, St.
Cuthbert's Workhouse, aged 85. 

 

On the 15th inst. at Dalston, near Carlisle, Mr. Wm. RICHARDSON, of the Westgate, near Newcastle, merchant, brother of Mr.
RICHARDSON, of Dalston. 

 

At Parkbroom, near this city, on Wednesday last, Mr. Robert BOWMAN, late of Durdar, aged 72, much respected through life. 

 

At Great Corby, on Saturday last, Mrs. Dorothy ARMSTRONG, school-mistress, aged 56. 

 

At Penrith, on the 19th inst., Ann, the daughter of Peter MOSS, aged 21. Same place, on Tuesday last, Isaac GRAHAM, coach-horse
keeper. He walked out the horses after the arrival of the London Mail at Penrith, on Tuesday forenoon last, but he sent them home by
a boy, which immediately created a suspicion that something was amiss. His wife and daughter went in search of him, and soon
discovered that he had hung himself in a shed near the town: life had only just become extinct. He had been in a desponding way for
some time. Verdict of the jury-mental derangement. 

 

At Thorsby, lately, Sarah, wife of Mr. Thomas MARK, grocer, aged 51 years. On the 18th, Mr. Joseph SCOTT, aged 41. 

 

On Saturday last, Mr. Isaac BELL, of Crofton, aged 84. 

 

In George-street, Whitehaven, Mrs. Mary STRICKLAND, widow, aged 91. 

 

At Moresby, Mr. ROTHERY, in his 72d year. 

 

At Uldale, near Egremont, Mr. Henry STEEL. [Retracted in the following week's paper.] 

 

At Harrington, John, son of Mr. Samuel YEOWARD, late tide surveyor at that port, aged 21. 

 

Suddenly, on the 19th inst., at his house in Keswick, John MAYSON, Esq. aged 33, son of the late John MAYSON, Esq. of Portinscale. 

 

At Appleby, on Tuesday last, Mrs. Sarah GIBSON, aged 102. 

 

At Dumfries, aged 84, Mrs. M'CULLOCH, relict of David M'CULLOCH, Esq. late of Ardwall. Aged 83, Mrs. HAMILTON, relict of the late
Captain HAMILTON, of Aldershaw. Elizabeth Jane, wife of Mr. William WATT, tanner. At Cramond House, on the 13th, John, infant son of
J. J. HOPE JOHNSTON, Esq. of Annandale. 

 

At the Manse of Earlstoun, on the 15th inst. sincerely regretted, the Rev. William SHIELS, aged 71. He was 43 years a minister of
the Church of Scotland. 

 

At Castledouglas, Mrs. HALLIDAY, relict of the late Rev. Thos. HALLIDAY, Minister of Kelton. 

 

Feb. 6, at Demerara, Mr. SMITH the missionary, while in prison under sentence. It is said that he received all possible attention
during his illness. 

 

*** The announced death of Mrs. WILKINSON, of Greystoke (copied from another paper), is not correct.
