At Kelso, on the 3rd inst. the Rev. James PORTEOUS, Jedburgh, to Miss ROBISON, daughter of the late Baillie ROBISON, of Jedburgh. 

 

At Kirk Santon, Isle of Man, the Rev. Thomas THIMBLEBY, A. M. Government chaplain, to Hannah, third daughter of Mr. Wood GIBSON,
merchant, of Liverpool. 

 

At Largs, D. K. SANDFORD, Esq. Professor of Greek in the University of Glasgow, to Miss CHARNOCK, only daughter of the late Robert
CHARNOCK, Esq. 

 

DIED, 

 

On the 24th ult. at Great Orton, Mary LITTLE, aged 25, much respected. 

 

July 4th, at Hayton-town-head, after a lingering illness, Jane, the widow of Mr. Thomas BELL; aged 68. She was truly respected, by
all around; and her benevolent disposition daily promoted the happiness of the poor. 

 

On Thursday the 3d inst. at Wolverhampton, Parthenia Shaw REED, wife of the Rev. Joseph REED (a native of this county,) and daughter
of James Shaw HELLIER, Esq. of the Woodhouse, Staffordshire. Gifted with a truly amiable and benevolent disposition, few ever
possessed more universal respect and good-will. Endeared by the goodness of her heart, and the suavity and simplicity of her
manners, to a wide circle of relatives and friends, her loss will long be deeply and extensively deplored. 

 

At Whitehaven, in Plumbland's-lane, Miss Margt. TURNER, aged 31.-In Queen-street, Miss Dorothy WOOD, aged 24.-In Gale-lane, Mr.
Joseph CAILE, aged 85.-In the market-place, Joseph, youngest son of Mr. Isaac PARK.-In Charles-street, Mr. I. SINGLETON, aged 85.-In
Tangier-street, Mrs. FLEMING, aged 90. 

 

At Egremont, after a protracted illness, Mr. Joseph CAMERON, shoemaker, aged 39. 

 

At Workington, John, second son of Mr. Jacob SEWELL, cabinet maker.-Same place, Mrs. M'DOWELL, advanced in years.-Mr. Joseph FISHER,
aged 48. 

 

At Cleator, Mr. James LUDLOW, aged 61 years. 

 

At Harrington, Mrs. Ann HAYSTON. 

 

At Maryport, Mr. John ARMSTRONG, advanced in life. 

 

Lately, at Pardshaw, in the parish of Dean, Mr. Thos. ROBINSON, one of the Society of Friends, at an advanced age; greatly respected
by numerous friends. 

 

At Corn How, in Brackenthwaite, parish of Lorton, very suddenly, Mr. John DOBSON. 

 

At Moor Side, in Gosforth, after a lingering illness, Mr. Isaac SINGLETON, in his 24th year.-At Hunter Place, in Gosforth, Daniel,
only son of Mr. Isaac MOOR, aged 24. 

 

At Waberthwaite, near Ravenglass, Mr. John  COOK, aged 63.-At Ravenglass, Mrs. TAYLOR, aged 56, relict of the late Mr. John TAYLOR,
of that place. 

 

At Dearham, aged 73, Mr. William THOMPSON, a worthy and honest man. 

 

In Dublin, on the 26th ult. advanced in years, Jos. JAMESON, Esq. King's Counsellor, one of the Barons of the Exchequer in Ireland,
and father of the Irish Bar. Mr. JAMESON was the son of the late Rev. Thomas JAMESON, rector of Egremont, near Whitehaven. 

 

At Dumfries, Mrs. James TURNER, New Bridge-street.-At an advanced age, Janet, relict of the late Mr. David AITCHISON, farmer,
Hayknows, parish of Annan. 

 

Aged 14, Isabella, eldest daughter of the Rev. E. GORILL, Kirkby-Lonsdale. 

 

Friday, at Frome, from actual starvation, in consequence of a cancer near his throat, Mr. S. ALLEN, an eminent dyer. 

 

At Bishop Stortford, Felix SIMPSON, Collector of Excise, formerly of Whitehaven. 

 

At Maxwelltown, in the fifty sixth year of his age, Mr. James MILLAR. 

 

At Brydekirk village, Catharine, wife of Mr. Robert WILSON, aged 45. 

 

At Holm of Carsphairn, on the 20th ult. Mr. James HASTINGS, a respectable farmer, at the age of 96 years. 

 

At his House in Stamford, Octavius Graham GILCHRIST, Esq., whose talents, taste, and acquirements were well known in the literary
world. 

 

On the 2d of October last, at Calcutta, Mr. Anthony WALMSLEY, son of Mr. Edward WALMSLEY, of Heggham-hall [sic - presumably
Egholme-hall], Mansergh, Westmorland. 

 

At New-York, on the 31st May, William BURGESS, Esq. merchant, a native of the parish of Kells. 

 

At his house, at St. Bernard's, near Edinburgh, on Tuesday morning, that eminent artist, Sir Henry RAEBURN, who has for so many
years occupied the first place among the portrait painters of his country. 

 

At Louth Hall, Ireland, on the 25th ult. Thomas, Lord Baron Louth, in the 60th year of his age. 

 

At Tritchinopoly, Hindostan, on the 20th January, Mungo PARK, M. D., eldest son of the late Mungo PARK. 

 

At the Workhouse, Skipton, aged 103, Mrs. Martha PRESTON. Until within a few years back, few women sacrificed more at the shrine of
Bacchus.
