Subject: [List-Cumbria] Can someone please get me the images of a soldier's record from Fold3?
Hi Folks,
These are the details given on Ancestry:
From: <https://search.ancestry.co.uk/search/collections/61068/> UK, Royal Hospital Chelsea Pensioner Soldier Service Records,
1760-1920
Name:
Private Joseph Dickinson [sometimes known as Joseph DICKENSON]
Enlistment Age:
17
Discharge Age:
32
Birth Date:
abt 1795 [bap. 17 Apr 1796]
Birth Place:
Monk Freeston [should be Monk Fryston, Yorkshire]
Enlistment Year:
1812
Discharge Year:
1827
Regiment:
Third Regt Of Foot Guards
Apparently he fought at Waterloo.
He isn't exactly closely related (or really related at all) - he was the maternal grandfather of the second husband of the great
grandmother of the wife of my husband's first cousin once removed.
If anybody is subscribed to Fold3, I would really appreciate the images! I don't know whether these records are on Findmypast as
well - if so, same applies.
Thanks in advance,
Petra
