January 29th, at Mr. LAMBERT's, Red Lion Inn, Sunderland, a gentleman, name unknown. He arrived by the coach, from Newcastle, on the

rough white great coat; had not, at Sunderland, associated or conversed with any person, nor had he any pocket-book or other
memorandum that could lead to a discovery of his name or residence. His neck-kerchiefs are marked W. B., and a slip of paper, nearly
worn out, was in his pocket, with Messrs. Chas. CHALONER and Co. written upon it; another slip of paper, apparently the beginning of
a letter, with Liverpool, December 3rd, 1822. It has been ascertained that he came from Carlisle to Newcastle, and thence to
Sunderland, and it is supposed he belonged to Liverpool or that neighbourhood.
