DEATHS.
On Wednesday last, at Harraby, near this city, Miss Eliza STEPHENSON, aged 23, after a lingering illness of ten months' duration.
Last week, Joseph HARRIS, of the King's Arms Lane, in this city, aged 17 years.-Elizabeth ELLIS, aged 53; and Elizabeth GRAHAM, aged
45, both of Irish Gates Brow.
On the 6th inst. at Clapton, aged 67, Mrs. OLIPHANT, relict of the late Lancelot OLIPHANT, Esq. of Broadfield-house, in this county.
At Akehead, on Saturday last, Joseph GOLDEN, at the advanced age of 98.
On Saturday last, Mr. Luke ROBINSON, of Culgaith, aged 64.
On Monday last, at Kirkby Moor Toll-bar, Mrs. Mary GRAHAM, aged 28.
On Sunday last at Workington, Mr. John DALEY, advanced in years.-Same place, on Tuesday last, Capt. Joseph THOMPSON, late of the
Industry.
Last week, at Cumwhitton, in his 99th year, Adam DRYDEN, of that place; a distant relative of DRYDEN the Poet.-It is remarkable,
that till the last year of his life he never suffered a tea-kettle to be in his house, and that during this latter period tea was
his favourite beverage.
On the 23rd ult. at his house in Harwich, of an apoplexy, John HULL, Esq. aged 62. This gentleman was a native of Brampton, in
Gilsland, in this county, but for 35 years past resided at Harwich, where he practised as an attorney and solicitor for 25 years;
and during the last 10 years has been in the commission of the peace for Essex.-His remains were interred in the parish church of
Warbness, near Harwich.
At Whitehaven,-In King-street, Mrs. THOMPSON, wife of Mr. Henry THOMPSON, grocer, in the 66th year of her age.-In New
Lowther-street, at an advanced age, Mr. Wm. CORKHILL, many years captain of a vessel at that port, but had retired some time
since.-In Tangier-street, Mrs. SKELTON, widow, aged 70.-At the house of her daughter (Mrs. HAMILTON, in Poe-street,) Mrs. Elizabeth
HAMPTON, aged 69.
At Ballakelly, Isle of Man, Mrs. BRIDSON, in the 101st year of her age.
At Dissington, Mrs. Mary HACKET, aged 69.
Last week, aged 34, Elizabeth, third daughter of John DILWORTH, Esq. of Lancaster, one of the Society of Friends.
At Annan, a few days ago, Mr. John LITTLE, mason, at the advanced age of 88.
Lately, Mr. James WAUGH, of Kirkland, Kendal, aged 75.-Mr. Jonah HODGSON, of Kendal, aged 22.-Mr. Joseph SCOTT, of Old Hutton, aged
25.
On the 16th of October, in Washington County, America, Mammy Lucy, a woman of colour, aged at least one hundred and thirty years,
having been the mother of 19 children.
At Thwaite Moss, in Furness Fells, Mrs. TAYLOR, relict of Rowland TAYLOR, Esq. of Crosthwaite, in the 61st year of her age.
The 21st ult. at the Vicarage-House, Brough, in the 80th year of his age, the Rev. Lancelot BELLAS, M. A. Vicar of Brough, and one
of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for Westmorland.
At Dumfries, on Wednesday se'nnight, Mr. Thomas TAYLOR, son of James TAYLOR, Esq. of Netherholm.-On Saturday last, Mr. Robert
FERGUSON, brother of Mr. James FERGUSON, writer in Annan.
At Maxwelltown, on Monday, Mrs. Lydia THOMSON, wife of Mr. Patrick THOMSON, innkeeper, Dumfries.
Lately, at Montrose, Mrs. MILLER, mother of Mr. Richard MILLER, of Lousa.
At his house, Lower Lee, in Wiersdale, Richard HATHORNTHWAITE, Esq. aged 85, whose death will be severely felt, as he was ever ready
in relieving the distresses of his fellow-men. The honest rustics of his native dale will long lament the loss of a kind neighbour,
a liberal benefactor, and a steady friend.
