On Saturday the 16th instant, the remains of John SCOTT, guard of the Carlisle and York Express Coach, were interred at Brough,
Westmorland, attended by his father, (Mr. John SCOTT, of Carlisle,) some friends, and most of the respectable inhabitants of the
place. The deceased was in his 42nd year. He had been taken ill on his return from York, on the Wednesday preceding, and was obliged
to stop at one of the spital houses on Stainmoor: every comfortable accommodation was afforded, and he retired to rest, but was
found lying on the floor next morning, quite dead!-A coroner's inquest was held upon the body, and a verdict, "Died by the
visitation of God," given by a most respectable jury. Mr. S. was highly respected in his situation.

On the 21st instant, in Caldewgate, the once-celebrated Thomas RIDLEY, aged 43, a pugilist of very great provincial celebrity. He
served his Majesty with the most undaunted courage, both by sea and land in the last two French wars, and was present at most of the
great battles that took place in those eventful times. He was master of a gun on board the Royal Sovereign at the battle of
Trafalgar; and so conspicuous was his courage at all times in NELSON's fleet, that he was always selected as a boarder. Although
Thomas never lost a pitched battle, either at sea, by land, or in the fancy ring, yet he has been grassed at last by his repeated
conflicts with Bacchus.

At Preston, Lancashire, on Tuesday last, Mr. Robert NOBLE, white-smith, a native of Penrith, aged 48 years.

At Keswick, Mary, wife of Mr. James GORDON, aged 84 years.

At Kirkbride, near Wigton, very suddenly, the Rev. Francis METCALF, Rector of Kirkbride, advanced in years.

At Seascale, Gosforth, in the 80th year of his age, Mr. John SHERWEN, very much respected.

At Fish-house, in the parish of Dornock, at the great age of 101, Mrs. GRAHAM of that place. This respectable old woman enjoyed all
her mental and corporeal faculties to the very last,-could have read the smallest print without spectacles, and last winter actually
spun a web of fine linen with her own hands.

At Gatehouse, in the 24th year of his age, Mr. Jas. TAIT, painter-a young man of the most promising talents.

At Claughbane, near Ramsey, Isle of Man, Miss CALLOW, in the 52nd year of her age. At Ballasalla, Mrs. Ann BRIDSON, aged 61 years.
