MARRIAGES. 

 

On Monday last, at St. Cuthbert's, Mr. William MITCHELL, butcher, to Miss Margaret CARTNER. 

 

At a Dearham [sic], on Sunday last, Mr. CHATTERTON, to Miss SINCLAIR, of Maryport. [According to FamilySearch, they were called
William COTGREAVE and Sarah SINCLAIR.]

 

At Penrith, on Monday, James KELL, to Ann SANDERSON, both of that place. 

 

On Saturday last, at Annan, Mr. Thomas CLARK, blacksmith, to Miss Jane PATTINSON, both of Drumburgh. 

 

At Harrington, Mr. Edward ENGLISH, nailor, to Mrs. Rebecca BARWICK [BERWICK according to FamilySearch]. 

 

At Workington, Mr. Jeremiah REED, miller, to Miss Mary WILLIAMS. 

 

On Monday last, Mr. James FLINTOFF, Officer of Excise, Green Hammerton, York, to Elizabeth, daughter of Mr. Joseph JOHNSTON, of
Wigton. 

 

At Gretna Green,  Mr. John FARBRIDGE, surgeon, Alston, to the only daughter of Mr. FRIEND, Corby Gates, Cumberland. [According to
FamilySearch, they were also married at Alston on 03 Jul 1816, and the bride's name was Sarah Ann FRIEND.] 

 

DEATHS. 

 

On Saturday last, in Watergate Lane, Mr. Joseph HETHERINGTON, aged 16 years, after a lingering illness which he bore with fortitude
and resignation to the Divine Will. 

 

Last week, Jane MACKOE, of King's Arms Lane, aged 72 years. 

 

At Grinsdale, aged 59, Mrs. Ann MITCHINSON, wife of Mr. Joseph MITCHINSON, of that place. 

 

On Thursday evening se'nnight, at the New Crown Inn, Penrith, Mr. Edward SCOTT, a traveller from London, aged 52. As soon as he got
out of the coach, he was taken ill, and in little more than an hour expired. 

 

On Saturday, same place, Mary BULLMAN, aged 53. 

 

At Whitehaven:-Monday last, Mrs. WILLIAMSON, widow, at an advanced age.-Same day, Miss WOOD, aged 16, daughter of Mrs. WOOD,
Duke-street.-Tuesday, Mrs. BOUCH, wife of Mr. Martin BOUCH. 

 

Wednesday morning, at his house at Moresby, John BIRKETT, Esq. Major in the Whitehaven Local Militia, much and deservedly respected.


 

The 10th inst. at Egremont, Mrs. Mary SANDERSON, widow of the late Mr. David SANDERSON, in the 89th year of her age. 

 

At Workington, Mr. Lawrence SHAW, nailor, aged 47.-At the same place, Mrs. A. POTTS, widow, aged 90. 

 

At Appleby, on Saturday last, William BIRBECK, aged 24 years. 

 

At Ramsey, Isle of Mann, James LYNAH, Esq. formerly Captain in the Manx Fencibles, aged 55. 

 

At Kendal, aged 71, Mr. BUCK, late supervisor of excise. 

 

At Milnthorpe, on the 7th inst. Mr. Thomas FENNER, comedian, aged 60; many years member of the Belfast theatre. 

 

A few days ago, at Pooley, near Ullswater, the Rev. Wm. AIREY, late curate of Rothwell, near Leeds. 

 

On Saturday last, at Dumfries, very suddenly, Mrs. Mary BROWN, wife of Mr. Robert BROWN, blacksmith.-Same day and place, Mrs. M.
M'DOWALL, aged 96. 

 

On Saturday last, at his father's in Dover-street, London, James AINSLIE, Esq. of Plumpton Lodge, Ulverstone, aged 29.
