On Saturday last, at St. Mary's, John DEWARS, to Martha MILLER.
At St. Cuthbert's, in this city, on Saturday last, John M'CUBBIN, to Jane BLACKLOCK.
Lately, at Sebergham, Mr. William Lee CHITTIFACE, carpenter, to Miss Phœbe FRIZELL, daughter of Harry FRIZELL, Esq. of Welltown.

At St. James's, Whitehaven, Mr. Isaac SPEDDING, of Wath Mill, to Mrs. Hannah CADDY, of Goose Butts. She is his second wife, and he
her third husband; and, what is rather singular, all the three husbands were millers.
At the Friends' Meeting-house, in Whitby, Mr. Abel CHAPMAN, of Sunderland, to Miss SMALES, of the former place.
Lately, at Liverpool, Capt. Thomas DIXON, of the brig Fortuna, of Workington, to Miss DAKRES.
At Enfield Church, the Rev. Orfeur William KILVINGTON, A. M. vicar of Brignall, in the county of York, to the Hon. Mary Margaret
NAPIER, eldest daughter of the Right Hon. Lord NAPIER.
At Heversham, Mr. BURROW, of Crosthwaite, near Kendal, to Miss FLEMING, sister of Sir David FLEMING, Bart.
At Edinburgh, on the 9th inst. by the Rev. Andrew THOMSON, Alexander COCKBURN, Esq. surgeon R. N. Dundas-street, to Margaret, only
daughter of the late Mr. William HANNAY, of Garliestown.
DEATHS.
This week, Elizabeth HAUGHAN, of Damside St. Cuthbert's, aged 38 years.
On Monday last, at Caldbeck, John SCOTT, aged 65 years.
At Penrith, on Saturday last, Mr. John ROGER, aged 23.—Same place, on Sunday, Mary, wife of Cuthbert LAW, of the Old Red Lion
Inn.—Same place, on Tuesday, Margaret TOWNLY, aged 64.
On the 8th instant, Mrs. YATES, Lady of John Orfeun [sic – should be Orfeur] YATES, Esq. of Skirwith Abbey, and youngest daughter of
Henry AGLIONBY, Esq. of Nunnery, in the county of Cumberland.
On Friday the 6th instant, at Prior Rigg, John THIRLWALL, in the 26th year of his age.
At Winskells, near Egremont, Ann, the daughter of Mr. Jacob BORROWDALE.—Friday, at Egremont, James, the son of Mr. Joseph BIRKETT,
gardener.
At Workington, Mr. John PARKIN, aged 84.—Mr. William WRIGHT, aged 77.—Mr. Alexander HORDY, sawyer, aged 40.—Mrs. Hannah BELL, aged
64.—Friday se'nnight, Bridgett POLLETT, wife of John POLLETT, who is now in Carlisle gaol, under sentence of transportation.
At Wittersham, Kent, [on the 11th ult., according to the Cumberland Pacquet] Rodia BRIDGE, aged 5 years; about an hour after, Sarah
BRIDGE, aged 10; on the 15th, Harriett BRIDGE, aged 3; and on the 18th, Sidney BRIDGE, aged 12. The above all died of ulcerated sore
throats, and were children of Mr. S. BRIDGE, of that place.
Last week, Gabriel SHAW, aged 69, formerly huntsman to Daniel WILSON, Esq. of Dallam Tower, and well known in this and the
neighbouring counties, for his feats in pedestrianism; he unfortunately met his death, by falling down a flight of stairs. He was
nephew to Dr. Thomas SHAW, the celebrated traveller, and not less remarkable for his excentricities in the circle of his
acquaintance, than the uncle was for his industry and learning, in the literary world.
Sudden Death.—On the 9th inst. Mrs. Alex. GOLDIE, of Isle of Nith. She went on a visit to her daughter and son-in-law, the Rev. Mr.
CRACKET, of Kirkgunzeon, near Dumfries, intending to spend a few days,—the evening was spent with the greatest hilarity, and, at the
usual hour, Mrs. GOLDIE retired to bed. Being rather longer in appearing in the morning than usual, upon entering the bed-room, she
was found lying dead at the bed side with her clothes on, and supposed to have died in an apoplectic fit.
