The 26th ult. at Armathwaite Castle, the lady of the Rev. J. R. HUNTON, of a daughter.-Lately, at Causeway-house, near Hesket, the
wife of Mr. NICHOL, of a daughter, being the only female amongst eight children. 

 

At Dumfries, last week, Mrs. HYSLOP, English-street, of a son.

On Monday, at St. Mary's, Mr. William RIDLEY, to Miss Sarah KEDDY.-Same day, at St. Cuthbert's, Mr. John FLEMING, to Mrs. Elizabeth
STANNERS.-Also on Thursday, Mr. John MORLEY, of Cumwhitton, to Miss Elizabeth STORY, of Botchergate. 

 

On Monday, at Maxwelltown, Mr. David M'CLELLAN, wood-merchant, to Miss Nancy SHORTRIDGE, youngest daughter of the late Mr. Thomas
SHORTRIDGE. 

 

At St. James's, in Whitehaven, Mr. Daniel PEARS, to Miss MURDOCH, of Senhouse-street.-Thursday, at the same place, Mr. John
HALFPENNY, of that town, to Miss LOWRY.-Lately, at the same place, Mr. HEWIT, to Miss LEA, both of Whitehaven. 

 

Tuesday se'nnight, at Hail, the Rev. Isaac KITCHEN, curate of Hail, to Miss BARDGETT, eldest daughter of the Rev. Joseph BARDGETT,
of Addingham, near Penrith. 

 

At Loweswater, Mr. HODGSON, butcher, in Cockermouth, to Miss Hannah WILSON, only daughter of Mr. John WILSON, of Mockerkin,
Loweswater. 

 

At Workington, Mr. William SPROAT, taylor, to Miss Sarah YOUNGHUSBAND.-Same place, Mr. Joseph DOWSON, to Miss Elizabeth BEATTIE. 

 

On Saturday last, at Lowther, Mr. Edward RICHARDSON, of Hackthorpe, to Miss Sarah YARKER, eldest daughter of Mr. Henry YARKER, of
the former place. 

 

DEATHS. 

 

On Tuesday last, in Scotch-street, after a lingering illness, Mr. Thomas NORMAN, aged 22,-a young man of a kind and benevolent
disposition. 

 

On Monday, Mary LAZONBY, of Caldewgate, aged 66. 

 

On Thursday last, at Burgh-by-Sands, Liddle HARRISON, aged 27. 

 

On Monday se'nnight, at Wigton, Thomas KAY, aged 17, youngest son of Mr. Joseph KAY, ironmonger. He was an amiable young man, and
had been in Manchester a few years. 

 

Friday se'nnight, in London, Curwen GALE, Esq. merchant, son of the late John GALE, Esq. merchant, of Whitehaven. 

 

In Coates-lane, Whitehaven, aged 76, Ann, the wife Mr. Isaac NICHOLSON. 

 

Lately, at Harris, near Whitehaven, Mr. W. SHELTON, aged 83. 

 

In West-strand, Whitehaven, Mr. Richard WALKER, aged 80; he had been 40 years master of one of the hoppers belonging to that port. 

 

At Cragg End, in the parish of Brigham, Mr. John ALLASON, one of the Society of Friends, advanced in age, and greatly respected. 

 

At Workington, Frances, daughter of Mr. Joseph WILSON, Washington-street, aged 19 years. 

 

At Torpenhow, on the 22nd ult. in the 43rd year of his age, Mr. Thomas MARTIN, joiner. 

 

At Laigh Auhen-wane, near Dumfries, on the 31st Aug., Mr. John JOHNSTONE, aged 84. In life he was a warm friend, benevolent to the
poor, a sincere Christian, and a truly honest man. 

 

Suddenly, at Dumfries, on Wednesday last, Mr. J. HAIR, of Conghist, parish of Kirkgurn, near Dumfries, aged 85. His death was
particularly singular; prepossessed in his mind, he was determined to alter his last will in favour of a more respected friend.
Having arrived at Dumfries for the purpose of executing the deed, he was proceeding up-stairs to a professional man, when a blood
vessel burst,-he dropped down and almost instantly expired.
