On Monday last, at St. Mary's, by the Rev. John FAWCETT, Mr. NORMAN, solicitor, to Catherine, third daughter of the late John
FERGUSON, Esq. of this city. 

 

On Sunday last, at St. Cuthbert's, in this city, Wilfred LAWSON, to Isabella CORLIS, both of English-street.-Same place on Monday
last, Joseph HODGSON, of Penrith, to Mary COWPER, of Carleton. 

 

At Penrith, on Sunday last, James CAMPBELL, to Ann FOSTER.-On Wednesday last, William M'CLELLAN, to Ann BELL.-Same day, Thomas

On the 22nd inst. at Patterdale, in Westmorland, William HARRISON, to Jane HENLEY. They had lived fellow-servants upwards of 20
years, at John MOUNSEY's, of Patterdale Hall, Esq. 

 

At Whitehaven,-Mr. DIXON, to Miss CARR.-Mr. Bernard CAVANAGH, mariner, of Whitehaven, to Miss Agnes RICHARDSON, of Cleator.-Mr. John
CLARK, of Workington, to Miss Isabella PENNY, of Whitehaven.-Mr. W. WHITE, of Hensingham, to Miss Hannah BOADLE, of Dissington. 

 

Friday se'nninght [sic], at the Friends Meeting-House, in Whitehaven, Mr. Thomas BRAGG, of Parton, to Miss BOADLE, daughter of Mr.
BOADLE, of Sandhills Lane, Whitehaven. 

 

On the 13th current, at Enfield church, in the county of Middlesex, Sir Thomas GIBSON CARMICHAEL, of Skirling, Bart. to the Hon.
Anne, second daughter of the present Francis Lord NAPIER. 

 

At Dumfries, on the 21st curt. Mr. James GALLOWAY, baker in Lockmaben, to Miss Janet HAIR. 

 

At Gretna Green, and afterwards at Kirby Hill, Mr. EMPSON, to Miss JOHNSON, of Newsham, in Yorkshire. She is co-heiress to the large
estates of Dr. JOHNSON, late of Hurworth. 

 

DEATHS. 

 

On the 26th inst. in this city, aged 85, Dinah LITTLE, late of Linstock, one of the Society of Friends. 

 

On Tuesday last, Jane M'FADYAN, of Rickergate, aged 30 years. 

 

On Tuesday last, Sarah, the infant daughter of Mr. John ARMSTRONG, innkeeper, St. Cuthbert's lane. 

 

On Monday last, at Upperby, Eleanor QUANBY, advanced in years. 

 

On Monday last, at Rockliff, Mr. William HEWIT, son of Mr. Thomas HEWIT, of Rockliff, aged 30 years. Mr. HEWIT was in a
banking-house in London, but came to Rockliff for the benefit of his health. 

 

On Saturday last, at Kirkoswald, Miss Mary LOWTHIAN, aged 14. 

 

On Sunday last, at Plumpton, near Penrith, Mr. John GRAY, yeoman, aged 71. He met his death by being struck on the head with a
bottle bursting which contained some yeast. 

 

On the 14th inst. at St. Albans, near London, Mrs. WALKER, wife of Chas. WALKER, Esq. solicitor, in London, and sister to Mr. BECK,
draper, Carlisle, aged 41 years. 

 

At the Vicarage house, Appleby, on Sunday last, in the 66th year of his age, much lamented by all who knew him, the Rev. William
PHILLIPS, M. A. many years Vicar of that parish; formerly Vicar of Bardfield, in the county of Essex, and of Cwmdu, Brecknockshire,
South Wales. 

 

On Sunday last, Mr. Wm. PARKER, of Long Marton, near Appleby, in the 64th year of his age. 

 

On Monday last, at Dacre, Robert HELEN, blacksmith, advanced in years. He put a period to his existence by hanging himself. 

 

On Sunday last, at Whitehaven, Philip SATTERTHWAITE, drummer in the Cumberland Militia. 

 

On Monday se'nnight, very suddenly at Lythe, aged 29, Mr. Thomas DODD, late huntsman to the Kendal subscription pack of hounds. 

 

At her house in Duke-street, Whitehaven, Miss HASTIE, after a short illness; the mistress of a respectable boarding-school. 

 

Lately, at Workington, Miss Ann KELSICK, aged 72 years, greatly respected. 

 

The 15th inst. Miss Mary Ann HARDY, daughter of Mr. John HARDY, of Bell's Close, near Newcastle, tallow-chandler, formerly of
Carlisle. 

 

At Edinburgh, on the 17th inst. Miss Eliz. TAYLOR, daughter of William TAYLOR, Esq. Newton Lodge, near Dumfries. 

 

At Dumfries, on Tuesday, Jean Tomline, third daughter of the late Mark MANDERSON. 

 

At Berwick, on Friday morning, after a lingering illness, much regretted, Mr. James GRAHAM, Coroner of that Borough, aged 69 years. 

 

On Tuesday the 18th instant, in the 82d year of his age, Mr. Thomas HENRY, President of the Literary and Philosophical Society of
Manchester, Fellow of the Royal Society of London, and Member of several other learned Societies both in this country and abroad.
