DIED.
On Saturday last, in this city, after an illness of only five days, from an affection of the brain, Richard, son of Mr.
CHRISTOPHERSON, broker, aged 18.
Sunday last, in Scotch-street, in this city, Mr. James KING, late plumber and brazier, aged 46.
On Thursday last, at Denton Hill, near this city, after a few days illness, Mr. John RUTHERFORD, aged 76.
On Saturday morning last, in Caldewgate, Ann, the wife of John GILBERTSON, aged 55. On the Thursday preceding, after having been
washing the greater part of the day, she observed to her daughter that she felt in an unusual manner. The words were scarcely out of
her mouth, when she was seized with a locked jaw, and on Saturday she expired in consequence in dreadful agonies.
This week, Mary PALMER, of Scotby, in the parish of Wetheral, aged 78.
At Grinsdale, aged 26, Mr. Wm. MITCHINSON, son of Mr. Joseph MITCHINSON, of that place.
On Wednesday last, at Brampton, Mr. Nicholas WRIGHT, aged 85.
On the 8th inst. at Penrith, Miss Catharine BRADLEY, aged 62.-Same place, on the 12th inst., Elizabeth WHARTON, of Eamont Bridge,
aged 72.
On the 8th inst., Mr. Richard WRIGHTS, of Torpenhow, aged 49 years, much and deservedly respected by all who knew him.
At Orton, near Wigton, Jane, eldest daughter of Mr. Joseph LIGHTFOOT, aged 26.
In George-street, Whitehaven, in the 40th year of his age, Mr. James FARISH, late master of his Majesty's ship Ethalion.
At Workington, Capt. Edward DAWSON, of the Friends.-At the same place, Capt. JOHNSON, of the Severn.
At Cockermouth, Mary, the wife of Mr. Michael PEELE, innkeeper.
At Goose Butts, near Whitehaven, Mrs. ROUTLEDGE, widow, aged 56.
At Brownhill, parish of Closeburn, on the 5th inst., Mrs. Catharine BACON, wife of Mr. John BACON, innkeeper there.
At Dumfries, on the 12th inst., Mrs. Elizabeth NIXON, widow of the late Mr. Thomas NIXON, horse-dealer there, aged 70.
At Dumfries, on Monday, Mr. John IRVING, shoemaker, aged 76, much and justly regretted.
At Ayr, on the 10th inst., John LOGAN, Esq. of Knockshanock, one of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the county of Ayr. He is
succeeded in his estates by his eldest son, Capt. John LOGAN, late of the Forfarshire Militia.
Suddenly, at Douglas, Isle of Man, Mr. J. MILLER, surgeon.
At Kirkton, parish of Kirkmahoe, on Saturday last, Mr. William FEAD, at an advanced age.
Of a typhus fever, at Lochbank, on Saturday the 9th inst. Miss Maxwell HANNY [sic], second daughter of James HANNAY, Esq. of
Blairinnie.
At St. Andrew's, on the 22nd ult. in the 93 year of his age, Adam FERGUSON, Esq. LL. D. formerly professor of moral philosophy in
the University of Edinburgh.
Lately, aged 77, at Fryern House, Middlesex, John BACON, Esq. many years receiver of the revenue of First Fruits; a gentleman than
whom none were more universally esteemed. Mr. BACON was a native of Cumberland, having been born at Lough-grange, in the parish of
St. Cuthbert. He was a man of considerable literary eminence, and all his productions savoured of patriotism and virtue.
KONIGSBERG, Feb. 25.-This afternoon, at one o'clock, of an inflammation in the liver, Count BULOW VON DENSEWITZ, having but just
attained the 61st year of his age. As a hero, and one of the deliverers of Germany, he had attained the summit of glory and fortune.
