Hi Beth
Thanks for your contact about Vickers. I haven’t found a Hannah Vickers marrying in Alston but I do have Hardys in Kirkoswald. My 7X Great Grandfather was a John Hardy born in the late 17C in Kirkoswald. I would imagine if we went back far enough we would be related.

Hi Jennifer.

You asked Wallace where his Vickers came from.
I too have Vickers connections in the area.

My 3 x great-grandfather, John Hardy (born Nenthead, 1754) married Hannah Vickers in Alston, Cumberland, in December 1776.  I have a list of their children from the family bible but have been unable so far to find out any more about Hannah.
