       LOWDEN, FROM KESWICK, VICTORIOUS! 

 

The above wrestling, in the opinion of good judges, was the best seen in Carlisle for a great number of years. About 300 persons
were present in the Circus to witness it. A match for 4gs. was afterwards made, (three throws out of five) by John LOWDEN and John
PEAT, who each threw once, when they agreed to withdraw the wager.
