BIRTH. 

 

Lately, at his seat, Ashley Park, Surrey, the lady of Sir Henry FLETCHER, Bart. of Clea Hall, in this county, of a son. 

 

MARRIED. 

 

A few days since, Mr. John ROUTLEDGE, of Scotstown, to Mrs. Mary FORSTER, widow of the late Mr. William FORSTER, shoemaker at Rack,
in the parish of Bewcastle. 

 

At Workington, a few days ago, Mr. Joseph BARNES, ship-carpenter, Maryport, to Miss Agnes BENN, of the same place. [According to the
transcription of the Workington marriage register, the marriage by licence took place on 31 Mar 1815 between Joseph BURNS,
shipwright, p. Cannonby, & Agnes BINNS.] 

 

At Crosscannonby, a few days ago, Mr. John CRONE, mariner, to Miss Sarah SILKRIGG; both of Maryport. [According to FamilySearch, the
marriage was on 02 Apr 1815, and the bride was called Sarah SELKIRK.] 

 

The 27th ult. at Hail, in this county, Mr. Gowan GRAVE, aged 75, Miss Elizabeth HELLON, aged 36. 

 

At Lancaster, on Tuesday se'nnight, the Rev. John TATHAM, vicar of Melling, and curate of St. George's chapel, in Kendal, to Mrs.
SKIRROW, daughter of William HODGSON, Esq. of Lancaster. 

 

At Edinburgh, on the 4th current, Colonel Sir William DE LANCEY, K. C. B. Deputy Quarter-Master-General in North Britain, to
Magdalene, second daughter of Sir James HALL, Bart. of Dunglass. 

 

At Cardoness-house, on Monday, the 3d inst. William CUNINGHAME, Esq. of Enterkine, to Miss Grace MAXWELL, daughter of Sir David
MAXWELL, Bart. of Cardoness. 

 

Lately, at Surfleet, Mr. James TIM, aged eighteen, to Mrs. Ann WEST, aged eighty. [According to other newspapers, she was only aged
70.] 

 

*** In the marriage of Mrs. BENSON, of Rickergate, last week, for CARRUTHERS read TWEDDLE. 

 

DIED. 

 

At her house, in Abbey-street, on Sunday, Mrs. WAUGH, last surviving daughter of the late Dr. WAUGH, Dean of Worcester. 

 

The 5th inst. the infant son of James MOUNSEY, Esq. of Woodbank. 

 

Yesterday, was found dead, in Capshowholm, parish of Jedburgh, Mr. James CLENNING, of Spring Garden Lane, Carlisle, confectioner.
[Presumably the place was Copshaw Holm, another name for Newcastleton, in the parish of Castleton, Roxburghshire.] 

 

At Penrith, on the 6th inst. Margaret, the wife of Mr. W. EDENHALL, aged 69. 

 

Same place, on Wednesday last, Mr. Joseph CLAYTON, aged 80. 

 

Tuesday se'nnight, at Kirkbank, near Bootle, in this county, aged 71, John KIRKBANK, Esq. Justice of the Peace. 

 

At Maryport, on Wednesday last, Jane, wife of Captain Joseph WHINFIELD, of the Brig Janes, of Maryport, in her 26th year, after a
severe illness, which she bore with the patience of a Christian. 

 

Lately, at Great Clifton, near Workington, Mrs. Mary SHAW, wife of Mr. John SHAW, of that place. 

 

At Crosscannonby, on Saturday last, after an illness of 5 days, Mr. John CURRAH, yeoman, aged 66; in him society has lost a useful
member, the poor a steady friend, and his family an affectionate husband and tender parent. 

 

At Rowbeck, in the parish of Bridekirk, a few days ago, Mr. John PERCIVAL, aged 22, son of the late Mr. Henry PERCIVAL; after a
lingering illness of upwards of 10 years, which he bore with Christian fortitude and resignation. 

 

On the 8th inst. in Langholm, Mr. Janetus IRVING, baker, aged 75. 

 

On Sunday morning last, in St. Andrew's church, Newcastle, Mr. John BULMAN, saddler and hardwareman. He dropped down dead in his
pew. 

 

On the 10th inst. very highly respected, Mr. Joseph MATTHEWS, at his house in Albion-street, Newcastle, of a long and painful
illness, which he bore with Christian fortitude. He has left a widow and a numerous infant family to regret his loss. The urbanity
of his manners had endeared him to an extensive circle of acquaintance, by whom his memory will long be revered. 

 

On the 8th inst. after a lingering illness, Mr. George LEE, grocer, Newcastle, aged 44. 

 

On Saturday week, at Clifton, Sir John STUART, the Hero of Maida. 

 

On Thursday, the 22d ult. in Hertfordshire, occasioned by a disappointment in love, Miss Lucy KING, a young lady of rare qualities,
and a very genteel fortune. She left a legacy of £300 to the clergyman to whom she was so much attached, who expressed much
astonishment at the event, as he had only been twice in the company of Miss K. and preached twice in the parish where she resided.
She had not communicated her deep-rooted attachment till a few days previous to her dissolution. 

 

On Sunday last, in London, aged 90 years, Lady Mary FITZGERALD, in consequence of her clothes taking fire the preceding
evening.—This Lady was aunt to the present Duchess of Devonshire, the Countess of Liverpool, Earl of Bristol, Earl Mulgrave, Gen.
PHIPPS, and Hon. Augustus PHIPPS. 

 

In Edinburgh, on Wednesday the 11th inst. Mr. Henry SIDDONS, patentee of the theatre.
