MARRIED.
Last week, at Skelton, near Penrith, Mr. W. WHITELOCK, jun. to Miss M. RELPH, both of Skelton.
At Penrith, on the 19th inst. Mr. Matthew BARKER, to Miss Mary COWAN; both of Penrith.
On Monday last, at Cross-Cannonby (by the Rev. Mr. DONALD), Mr. W. DILLION, mariner, Maryport, to Miss Ann RITSON, daughter of Mr.
John RITSON, of the brewery, Maryport.
Thursday last, at same place, Capt. Thomas BELL, of the Pilgrim, Maryport, to Miss Betsey ROBINSON, of same place.
In Newcastle, on Wednesday se'nnight, Mr. William CHAMBERS, to Miss CARTER.
Lately, at Wigan, Mr. Henry ACTHEW [ARTHUR according to the Staffordshire Advertiser], of Cannock, Staffordshire, to Miss Jane
PODMORE, of Nantwich. The bridegroom is a jockey of great celebrity; and, although arrived at the age of 26 years, weighs only
24lbs. [84 lbs. according to the Staffordshire Advertiser]: the bride is of large stature.
At Crosthwaite, Mr. John MOOR, of Lyth, aged 63, to Miss Mary ADDISON, of Beathwaite Green, aged 52, after thirty-six years
courtship.
DIED.
In Spring-Garden-lane, on Saturday, aged 45, Mrs. Jane LITHGOW, widow of Mr. Thomas LITHGOW, bricklayer, whose decease was lately
noticed in this Paper.
On Thursday, in Caldewgate, aged 42, Mr. David M'LEARTY, hatter.
On the 21st January last, at Rockliff, Elizabeth, wife of Mr. SINCLAIR, schoolmaster, aged 60.
At Penrith, on the 16th inst. Jane, wife of Mr. John WILSON, aged 66.
Same place, on the 20th inst. Mrs. Jane LANCASTER, aged 77.
Same place and day, Mrs. Hannah SALKELD, aged 68 [63 in the Cumberland Pacquet].
A few days ago, at Cleator, Mrs. Ann BORRISKILL, aged 89, many years a resident in Maryport, when in its infant state, and whose
child was the first corpse interred in the church-yard of that place.
In London, on the 17th inst. Mr. Mark LONSDALE, brother of Mr. John LONSDALE, iron-merchant in this city; a man of considerable
genius, and the author of Th' Upshot (in the Cumberland Dialect), Hooley and Fairley, and a number of other pieces of different
descriptions, in prose and verse. He was in his 57th year.
In Whitehaven, on the 15th inst. aged 63, Mrs. Elizabeth BOUCH.
Same place, lately, Miss HEWSON, aged 45.
Same place, lately, Mrs. Elizabeth MOSSOP, wife of Mr. MOSSOP, carpenter, aged 35.
Same place, on Sunday, Mr. Jas. WITHERINGTON, draper.
At Peeltown, Isle of Man, Mr. John COWX, formerly of Ireby, in this county.
Monday se'nnight, Mr. Wm. THEOBALDS, clock-maker, of Burnside, near Kendal, aged 35.
Same day, at Appleby, Mrs. RUDD, aged 44, wife of Mr. John RUDD, boot and shoe-maker.
At Lancaster, on the 16th inst. Mrs. CARRUTHERS, wife of Mr. CARRUTHERS, druggist.
At Annan, on the 16th inst. Mr. Robert CALDENHEAD, son of Mr. CALDENHEAD, officer of excise.
On Monday se'nnight, in Ireland, in consequence of a fall from his horse whilst hunting in the neighbourhood of Killiney, the Duke
of Dorset. He was a young man, the daughter [sic!] of the Countess Dowager of Liverpool, second wife of the late Earl.
