BIRTH.
Mrs. Thos. BLYTH, Hollies, Cannoby, aged 48, was safely delivered of a son on the 21st ult. sixteen years having intervened since
the birth of her last child.
MARRIED.
On Thursday the 1st inst. at Wigton, Mr. Joseph WIGGIN, grocer, to Miss PEARSON; both of that place.
At Cummertrees, on the 29th ult. Mr. William Douglas GIBSON, to Miss Christina HENDERSON.
On the 22d ult. at Springfield, Issac SPARKE, Esq. of Summerrods, and B. A. of St. John's College, Cambridge, to Elizabeth Mary,
only daughter and heiress of the late George Delaval SHAFTOE, Esq. of Carrycoats Hall, Northumberland.
On Thursday se'nnight, Mr. DICKSON, of Bellman Ground, Bowness, to Miss Susannah ASKEW, of Kendal.
DIED.
On Tuesday, in Caldewgate, near this city, Mr. John HIND, shoemaker, aged 31; a young man universally respected, and who, from his
amiable disposition and unaffected piety, was endeared to a large circle of acquaintance.
Monday last, Mr. John WELSH, of Caldewgate, aged 38.
On Wednesday last, Mr. Thos. MULCASTER, of English-street.
The 21st ult. at Wigton, Mr. Robert DODGSON, schoolmaster, aged 34.
Yesterday week, at same place, Thomas, son of Mr. NIXON, surgeon, aged 10 years.
Tuesday, at same place, Mrs. Sarah MATTHEW, aged 31.
At Penrith, on same day, Mr. John MOSS, aged 84.
Same place, on Wednesday, Jane TATE, one of the Society of Friends.
Wednesday se'nnight, at Brougham Vicarage, near Penrith, in the prime of life, after a short illness, the Rev. Richard FRANKLAND,
late curate of that parish.
At Kirkoswald, in this county, on Sunday last, Mrs. Hannah HOOSON, aged 63.
Last week, after a short illness, Mr. Thomas JEFFERSON, of Mirkbooths, parish of Castlesowerby, in this county, aged 27, much
lamented, and universally beloved.
Saturday se'nnight, at Kendal, Mrs. GASGARTH, of Matson's Ground, near Bowness, Westmorland, aged 68.
Wednesday se'nnight, Mr. Joseph BURNEY, of the Royal Oak inn, Burton-in-Kendal.
At Dalkeith House on the 24th ult. her Grace Harriet Katharine, Duchess of Duccleugh [sic - should be Buccleugh] and
Queensberry.-Her Grace was daughter of Lord Viscount Sydney. Her death will be long felt and deeply lamented by the poor, to whom
her benevolence and charity were generally and liberally extended. Among other acts of disinterested and judicious benevolence, her
Grace established and supported a number of schools, for the education of children, upon the estates belonging to the noble family
of Buccleugh and Queensberry. The Duchess has left two sons and four daughters.
At Auteuil, in France, aged 60, the celebrated Count Rumford, Associate of the French Institute and of the Royal Society of London,
&c.
