DIED.
"On Saturday last, August 20, at her house in Scotch-street, after a lingering illness, Jane, widow of the late William GILES, Esq.
of his Majesty's 19th regiment of Foot, aged 64, sincerely lamented by all who knew and appreciated her excellent qualifies. To
enumerate her virtues is not the intention of this last sad tribute to her memory; but, though her sphere of life might not be
eminently exalted, it was ably and exemplarily filled. In every relation of life it was her aim and her lot to do her duty: and
through a long life, even when the hand of God was heavy, this consolation made her bow with resignation to the Almighty's will-nor
in the solemn hour of death did it fail to sooth and animate her departing spirit. Her's was a Christian's death-bed. May our lives
be as upright, and our deaths as sweet!"--In Scotch-street, on Thursday last, aged 29, Mrs. Agnes PICKERING, wife of Mr. Ralph
PICKERING, after being delivered of a fine infant 20 days before. The tears of her friends and acquaintance form her best eulogium:
she has left a disconsolate husband and three children,-the latter of whom, alas! of too tender years to be sensible of their
irreparable loss.-At the Irish Gates, on Sunday, Mr. John ARMSTRONG, aged 22.-Tuesday, in Francis-street, aged 19, Ann, daughter of
Mr. D. PARKIN, whitesmith.-On Sunday last, Jane BELL, of Castle-street, aged 19.-Same day, Bridget PEACOCK, of Scotch-street, aged
29.-On Monday, Mrs. Jane BUNTON, of Caldewgate, aged 43.

Westmorland and Cumberland.-Same place, lately, Mr. James MacCARTNEY, of the Black Bull inn, aged 77.

78th year of his age. Admiral LUTWIDGE (whilst Commodore) was the first Naval Preceptor for Lord NELSON.
