On the 20th inst. Mrs. J. CHRISTIAN, of Wigmore-street, London, of a son. 

 

MARRIED. 

 

At St. Mary's, on Sunday last, Mr. George LANCASTER, to Miss Jane LOCKERBY. 

 

Same place, on Monday, Mr. William BOYD, to Miss Mary M'CARTY. 

 

At St. Cuthbert's, Mr. Stephen WISEMAN, to Miss Ann HODGSON. 

 

At Alston, on Monday last, by the Rev. B. JACKSON, Mr. Wm. BELL, wine and spirit merchant, of the Shaws, Gilsland, to Miss ATKINSON,
only daughter of Thomas ATKINSON, Esq. of the Hermitage, near Alston. 

 

Lately, at Bourgh, in Galloway, James SMITH, Esq. son of the Rev. Mr. SMITH, of that parish, (and lately clerk with Messrs.
FORSTERs, manufacturers in this city) to Miss GORDON, of the said parish of Bourgh, who is heiress apparent to a fortune of £40,000!


 

DIED. 

 

Sunday last, aged 21, Mr. Arthur RENNIE, of Scotch-street. 

 

Saturday, in this city, Mrs. Margaret GRAHAM, aged 32. 

 

Monday, at same place, Mrs. Ann WALLACE, wife of Mr. H. WALLACE, joiner, aged 56. 

 

Same day and place, aged 35, Mr. William SUMMERS. 

 

Yesterday week, at same place, aged 28, Mrs. Elizabeth LIDDELL, wife of Mr. LIDDELL, English-street. 

 

At Penrith, on Thursday se'nnight, Isabella, the wife of Mr. John HALL, aged 37 [?] years. 

 

Suddenly, at Wigton, on Saturday the 10th instant, Mr. MacMURRAY, at an advanced age. 

 

The 19th inst. at Newcastle, much respected, Mrs. DICKSON, wife of Mr. G. A. DICKSON, formerly of this city, aged 32 years. 

 

On Saturday week, at Ryhope, near Sunderland, after a few days illness, Thomas HEAD, Esq. of Newcastle, many years an eminent
raff-merchant there. Mr. H. was a native of Carlisle. 

 

Wednesday se'nnight, Mrs. LAMARSH, of the Turf Hotel Coach office, Newcastle. 

 

At Dumfries, on Saturday, Mr. Jon. CURRIE, cattle-dealer. 

 

EXTRAORDINARY DEATH.—Lately died, of old age, to the great grief of many agriculturists and farmers, General Rust, alias Blight,
alias Smut, alias Mildew; a well-known character, famous for propagating falsehoods, and, in his reviews throughout the several
Districts of England, for blasting the farinaceous products of the lands, wherever he was quartered.
