CITY OF CARLISLE. 

 

THIS is to give notice, that in consequence of very serious complaints having been made to the Mayor of this city of the riotous and
disorderly behaviour of boys in the streets upon Sundays, both during the time of divine service and other parts of the day; the
Constables of the city have orders to apprehend all boys who shall be found so offending: but the Mayor hopes that this Notice will
serve as a Caution to Parents, to prevent their children becoming the objects of the severe measures which he will feel himself
compelled to adopt, in order to put a stop to so scandalous an abuse of the Sabbath.
