To the EDITOR of the CARLISLE JOURNAL.
----------
MR. EDITOR,---It is much to be regretted that some measures are not pursued to check the general propensity boys of this city have
to throw stones at persons, without any discrimination whatever; I say, without any discrimination, having witnessed, on Sunday
evening last, that a very respectable young woman was wounded by a large stone aimed at her head, which might have proved of serious
consequence. Surely, Mr. Editor, some check, at least, to such misdemeanors might be given, by means of a public warning, issued
with proper authority, by the cryer.
Carlisle, March 2, 1814. AN OBSERVER.
