Last week, a poor woman in Dumfries was delivered of three children. The mother is doing well; but the children all died on Sunday. 

 

MARRIED. 

 

At St. Cuthbert's, on Sunday last, Mr. David FOSTER, to Miss Sarah ROUTLEDGE. 

 

Same place, on Monday, Mr. John M'CREARY, to Miss Mary WILSON. 

 

At St. Mary's, on Thursday, Mr. Wm. ARMSTRONG, of this city, to Miss Margaret LANGHORN, parish of Gretna, N. B. 

 

On Tuesday last, at Wetheral, Mr. John GRAVES, officer of excise, Trentham, Staffordshire, to Miss BROWN, of Warwick-bridge, near
this city. 

 

The 21st ult. at Brigham, Dr. HAMILTON, jun. physician in Edinburgh, to Miss SATTERTHWAITE, daughter of J. C. SATTERTHWAITE, Esq. of
Cockermouth, formerly M. P. for that borough. 

 

At Workington, on Sunday last, Capt. Edward MERRIMAN, of the Dorset, to Miss BEN, both of that place. 

 

Thursday se'nnight, at Harrington, Mr. BOWES, of Maryport, mariner, to Miss BURNETT, of Mickleham. 

 

Tuesday se'nnight, at Whitehaven, Mr. John BARNS, officer in the customs, to Miss DARBY. 

 

Yesterday week, at Grayrigg Chapel, Mr. James BLENKARN, of Birds Park, to Miss Elizabeth SPEIGHT, of Kendal Parks. 

 

Saturday last, Mr. BRACKET, attorney, Newcastle, to Miss Isabella BELL, daughter of Mr. BELL, corn-merchant. 

 

On the 21st ult. Granville VERNON, Esq. seventh son of the Archbishop of York, to Miss EYRE, daughter of Col. EYRE, of Grovehouse,
Nottinghamshire. 

 

DIED. 

 

At her house, in this city, on the 26th ult, Mrs. WAUGH. 

 

Saturday, in this city, Mr. John DUNN, aged 59. 

 

Same day and place, Mr. Wm. ROBINSON, aged 63. 

 

Sunday, at same place, aged 35, Mrs. Bridget HAYNE. 

 

Thursday, at same place, Hannah, daughter of Mr. Carleton THOMPSON, aged 19. 

 

On Wednesday last, at Woodheads, near Penrith, after a long and severe illness, which she endured with truly Christian patience,
Miss Mary HODGSON, aged 67, much respected. 

 

Wednesday last, at Keswick, in the 105th year of her age, Mrs. THRELFAL, formerly of the Golden Fleece inn, at Ulverston, and mother
of Mrs. WOOD, of the Queen's Head inn, Keswick. 

 

The 18th ult. at Curryhouse, Mr. John SIMPSON, aged 25, late schoolmaster at Grassfield, near Alston. 

 

On the 25th ult. after a short illness, aged 68, Mr. W. BUSHBY, landlord of the Crown, Emont Bridge, which inn he had kept with
reputation upwards of 40 years. 

 

Thursday se'nnight, Mrs. HALLHEAD, wife of Mr. Wm. HALLHEAD, of the Dolphin, Kendal. 

 

The 20th ult. at Polam Farm, neat Darlington, John YARROW, aged 110. 

 

Thursday last, in Dumfries, Mrs. Ann WHITE, wife of Mr. Robert BARBER, merchant. 

 

Tuesday se'nnight, at same place, Miss Marion PRIMROSE, daughter of Mr. Daniel PRIMROSE, shoemaker. 

 

The 16th ult. at Galway, Ireland, aged 100, Thomas WILKINS, M. D. many years surgeon of the Galway County Infirmary. It was in his
arms the immortal WOLFE breathed his last, after Quebec had surrendered to his Majesty's forces, on the 18th October, 1758 [sic -
the battle of the Plains of Abraham, and General James WOLFE's death, took place on 13 Sep 1759].
