DIED.
Yesterday, the Rev. Browne GRISDALE, D. D. Chancellor of this Diocese, Rector of Caldbeck and Bowness, and Prebendary of Norwich,
aged 63. In him the county has lost a most active and useful magistrate, and his children an excellent parent-he will be long and
deeply regretted.
Yesterday morning, at Crosby, Mrs. DALTON, relict of the late Geo. DALTON, Esq. of this city, aged 70; sincerely regretted.
On Monday, in Castle-street, aged 83, Mrs. JACKSON, mother of William JACKSON, Esq. who, during the course of a long life,
maintained by her excellent qualities, the esteem and love of all those who had the happiness of her acquaintance.
In this city, on Monday last, Mr. Robert NANSON, formerly a hatter, aged 74; the oldest common councilman of the Corporation, and
much respected by an extensive circle of acquaintance, as an honest man, a warm friend, and an agreeable companion.
Same place and day, Mrs. WILSON, wife of Mr. Daniel WILSON, joiner, advanced in years.
Same place, on Thursday se'nnight, Barbara SCOTT, aged 29.
Same place, on Tuesday se'nnight, Mr. William MILES, master gunner of this garrison, aged 75. [Correction in the following week's
paper: he was aged 74.]
Same place, on Sunday, Mr. Jas. WARD, aged 70.
Same place and day, Mrs. Margaret WEIR, schoolmistress, aged 78.
Same place and day, Mr. John OLIPHANT, tailor, aged 81.
Same place and day, Mrs. Mary ROSS, aged 70.
In Botchergate, on Sunday last, Mrs. Margaret HANNAY, aged 51.
In Caldewgate, on Wednesday, Mrs. Ann HODGSON, aged 84 years.
Same place, yesterday week, Mrs. MATTHEWS, mother-in-law to Mr. W. PARK, innkeeper, Carlisle; much respected.
Tuesday, Mrs. Margaret COSKIN, of Denton-foot, aged 63 years.
At Stanwix, near this city, on Saturday, Mr. Joseph LISTER, aged 66.
On the 11th inst. at his house in Artillery-street, London, Mr. David WIGHTMAN, aged 28, second son of Mr. John WIGHTMAN, of
Whiteclose-rigg, in this county. The mild disposition and generous heart of this young man had greatly endeared him to his friends;
and his probity in business had gained him the esteem of all his neighbours, who much lament his premature death.
On Thursday last, at Croft, parish of Hayton, Mrs. MODLIN, aged 89; much respected.
In Wigton, on Sunday last, Mrs. Sarah BIRBECK, aged 80 years.
Same place and day, Mrs. Elizabeth TORNENT, advanced in years.
Same place, on Tuesday, Mrs. Mary WATERSON, aged 55.
Same place, on Wednesday, Mr. William BELL, aged 79.
Same place and day, Mr. William ROBINSON, at an advanced age.
At Harby-Brow, on same day, Mr. Daniel WILKINSON, in the prime of life.
