On Thursday last, at Wetheral, near this city, Mr. John ATKINSON, of Flint Head, to Miss LATIMER.
Tuesday se'nnight, at Whitehaven, Mr. Patrick HIND, miner, to Mrs. Catherine MURRAY.
Sunday last, at same place, Mr. John CHRISTIAN, mariner, to Miss Martha RASSON [sic - CASSON according to Whitehaven Marriages
Database].
Lately, Mr. James BROWNRIGG, to Miss Maria SELBY, daughter of the late Rev. T. SELBY; both of Kendal.
A few days ago, Mr. John ALDERSON, to Miss Sarah HUNTER, of Ravenstondale, Westmorland.
DIED.
On Tuesday last, in Scotch-Street, Mrs. Isabella SEWELL, aged 25. Her death was occasioned by her clothes being seized by the flames
while attending her oven.
On Monday last, at Wigton, after a lingering illness, which she bore with Christian resignation, Miss Martha JEFFERSON, aged 23,
daughter of Mrs. JEFFERSON, grocer.
Same place, on Tuesday last, Mrs. BARNES, at an advanced age.
On Monday, the 14th inst. Mr. Rowland KITCHING, of Wickerslack, near Shap, in Westmorland, aged 87.
At Workington, on Saturday last, the 12th inst. Mr. Henry SMITH, of that place, aged 76 years, a man of considerable natural parts.
On Tuesday last, Mr. Joseph TROUGHEAR, son of Mr. TROUGHEAR, of the King's Head Inn, Maryport, a promising young man.
Last week, at Stainton, near Penrith, Mrs. Isabella DAWSON, aged 93, sixty years housekeeper to the family of Edward HASSLE, Esq.
Dalemain.
At Penrith, a few days since, Miss Abigal VARTY, in the 59th year of her age, much respected.
At Penrith, on Saturday last, in the 39th year of his age, Mr. Richard ELLWOOD, attorney-at-law, much regretted by his friends and
numerous acquaintance.
Thursday se'nnight, in Whitehaven, Mr. Robert M'MELLON, aged 74 years; upwards of 56 of which he had been master of a vessel in the
coal trade, from that port.
Thursday se'nnight, at same place, Mrs. Bridget HARRISON, widow of the late Mr. Thomas HARRISON, mariner, aged 87.
Tuesday se'nnight, at Keswick, Mr. John ATKINSON, jun.
Same day, at Harrington, a few days after his arrival from London for the benefit of his health, Mr. Jonah BROWN, aged 18.
At Dumfries, on Sunday last, in her 86th year, Mrs. GILCHRIST, sen. widow of the late Dr. Ebenezer GILCHRIST, physician.
At Abbey Bank, N. B. David ANDERSON, Esq. of Baldovie.
