DURHAM ASSIZES, AUGUST 14. 

 

James EYLEY, otherwise ILEY, charged with stealing copper coin-To be imprisoned 1 month. 

 

David THOMPSON, otherwise Andrew RIDLEY, with horse-stealing-Guilty, DEATH. 

 

John HEPPLE, with stealing two heifers-Guilty, DEATH. 

 

Thomas TATE, with manslaughter-Imprisoned one month, and fined 1s. 

 

Jane WILSON, with shoplifting-Imprisoned 12 months, and fined 1s. 

 

James LOWE, with burglary-Seven years transportation. 

 

Thomas NEWSTOB, with stealing wearing apparel-Seven years transportation. 

 

Against John BLACK, and Ann CRANE, for felony-No Bill. 

 

NEWCASTLE COURT, AUG. 19. 

 

John FEWSTER, charged with pocket picking, was found guilty. True Bills were found against all the other prisoners, except KIDD for
maliciously stabbing. 

 

NORTHUMBERLAND COURT. 

 

Andrew ATKINSON, for stealing eight 20s. Bank notes, was found guilty: and John WATCHORN, charged with uttering a forged bill of
exchange; Thomas VARDY, with aiding in the committing of a rape; Alexander ROSS, with maliciously cutting; John WALTON and Jane
WALTON, with murder, were acquitted.
