son of Mr. Robert CLARKE, Brigbank, near Wigton; a young man of the most promising abilities.

On Saturday was buried at Portsmouth, with the most distinguished funeral honours, General RUFIN. This General bore a distinguished
part in the hard-fought battle of Barrosa. He received a wound in the neck which paralysed his arms. He continued very cheerful, and
seemed to suffer but little from his wound till about nine minutes before his death. After having ate a hearty dinner, he was
suddenly seized with pain, which terminated in his death; it proved the wound had affected the spinal marrow. The deceased was a
great favourite with BONAPARTE; he possessed upwards of 4,000l. per annum, landed property in the neighbourhood of Havre-de-Grace.
He was a Member of the Legion of Honour, of a Saxon Order, and a Count of BONAPARTE's Empire. He was a stout man, and 39 years of
age. After he was taken prisoner, he considered the treatment he received from our officers so kind and generous, that he
represented it to Marshal VICTOR, who, in consequence, suffered a number of our wounded men to be taken off, which it was in his
power to prevent.

On Monday the 6th, Rear-Admiral GRAVES, of Penrice House, Cornwall.

It is with the deepest regret that we announce the sudden death of the Right Honourable Robert BLAIR, Lord President of the Court of
Session. His Lordship, we understand, was in his usual health on Monday at breakfast, and took his forenoon's walk in the Meadows,
Edinburgh. On his return home, he was seized with the cramp in his stomach, which, unfortunately for his country, proved fatal in a
few hours.

On the 8th instant, at Tauloght, near Tralee, at the advanced age of 103, Lucius BOLTON, Esq.

Lately, at the Isle of Man, Nelson SCOTT, M. D.
