A few days ago, as Mr. Isaac TAYLOR, near Middlesceugh, was breaking a duck's egg that had been prepared for his breakfast, he was
not a little surprized to discover that a water lizard, or ask, (as it is provincially termed) was inclosed in it.—Similar phenomena
have often been remarked.

Messrs John and Wm. WATSON, of Sceugh-dike, have now in their possession a hen, whose colour, within these few months, has undergone
singular changes.—It was originally black, was afterwards a black-pied; and after being clothed completely in white, has now assumed
the red-pied colour.

On Sunday evening last, the Fanny, DODGSON, of Workington, a light collier, and a small lime sloop belonging to Dumfries, were both
put on shore a little north of Maryport; the lime sloop had been on fire near twelve hours. The Brilliant, DOCKRAY, and Ford,
ROBINSON, which sailed in the morning, were put back: the Brilliant had some of her sails split, her shrouds broke, and had her jib
boom carried away. The Fanny and lime sloop are both got off.
