APPLEBY AND TEMPLE-SOWERBY 

Branch Bible Society. 

 

The First Anniversary Meeting of this Society was held at the New Inn, Temple-Sowerby, on Thursday, Nov. 3-Abraham LEVY, Esq. one of
the Vice-Presidents of the Society, was called to the Chair. 

 

The Report of the Committee having been read from the Chair, it was received and adopted, and ordered to be printed, together with a
list of the Subscribers and Benefactors. 

 

The thanks of the Meeting were then voted to the different officers of the Society; also to the Branch Society at Kirkby Stephen; to
the Subscribers and Benefactors at Brough; to the Chairman; and to the following gentlemen who kindly attended the Meeting from a
considerable distance, and with whose presence and services the Meeting was highly gratified, viz.-W. W. C. WILSON, Esq. of
Casterton-Hill; Rev. John FAWCETT, of Carlisle; Rev. Wm. WILSON, of St. Bees; Rev. John WHITRIDGE, of Carlisle. 

 

Several impressive and animated speeches were delivered on the occasion: and the utmost harmony, gratitude, and joy, pervaded the
Meeting. 

 

The speakers were W. W. C. WILSON, Esq.; Rev. John FAWCETT; Rev. Wm. WILSON; Rev. J. WHITRIDGE; Mr. John BROWNRIGG, of Morland; and
Rev. John MERRY, of Newbiggin.
