At Wigton, on Thursday se'nnight, Mr. Joseph STRONG, wine and brandy-merchant, Noble-street, London, to Miss BELL, of the former
place. 

 

Same place, on Saturday, Mr. Joseph PEARSON, manufacturer, to Miss BOWMAN. 

 

Same place, Mr. Robert SHEPHERD, tailor, to Miss Mary SANDERSON. 

 

At Whitehaven, on Tuesday last, Mr. John HESLOP, mariner, to Mrs. SHILTON, widow-both of Maryport. 

 

Saturday week, in Kendal, Mr. John CHRITCHLEY, of Staveley, in Cartmel, to Miss Maria GARNETT. 

 

Same place, on Monday se'nnight, Mr. Richard BELL, mason, to Miss Eleanor BIRKETT. 

 

Same day and place, Mr. John BUXTON, shoemaker, to Miss Jane COMPSTON. 

 

On Tuesday se'nnight, at Appleby, Mr. Robert BAINBRIDGE, Bongate, to Miss Mary HUNTER, of Appleby. 

 

Friday se'nnight, at Boston, Mr. John JARVIS, to Mrs. DAWSON, widow, both of Grimsby.-The bridegroom is the ringer of the night and
morning bell at the latter place, and by his marriage he has at least doubled his employment: before he had only one dipper to
attend to, he has now two. 

 

DIED. 

 

On Sunday the 6th inst. deservedly respected by all who knew her, Mrs. Eleanor BOWMAN, wife of Mr. Robert BOWMAN, cabinet-maker, of
this city, aged 68, after a long and painful illness, which she bore with patience and resignation. 

 

On Thursday last, in Caldewgate, aged 33, Mr. Isaac BYERS, calico-printer. 

 

Lately, William, son of Mr. Thomas CLARK, of English-Gates, Carlisle, aged 12 years. 

 

A few days ago, at Wheelbarrowhall, Ann GRAHAM, aged above ninety. She kept a public-house there for more than half a century. 

 

At Wigton, on Wednesday se'nnight, Mrs. Frances WILKINSON, advanced in years. 

 

A few days ago, at Row, near Dearham, Jane, wife of Simon ROBERTSON, Esq. aged 83. 

 

On Friday week, at Dearham, Mr. John PATESON, maltster, aged 61. 

 

On Sunday se'nnight, in Kendal, David MARTIN, aged 52, from Wigton, in Cumberland; and on Monday thereafter, Joseph NELSON, from
Workington, aged 18, both of the Royal Cumberland Militia. 

 

A few days ago, in Kendal, Mr. Wm. BROCKLEBANK, currier, aged 61. 

 

Tuesday se'nnight, in Whitehaven, Mrs. Sarah CROSTHWAITE, widow, aged 82. 

 

Same place and day, Mrs. GUNSON, widow, advanced in years. 

 

Last week, at same place, aged 84, Mr. Henry WALLACE, mariner. 

 

Yesterday week, at Bolton Wood, in this county, Mr. John STEAD, in the prime of life, one of the Society of Friends, and principal
engineer and manager of Bolton Colliery. 

 

Wednesday se'nnight, at Cringle Gate, near Egremont, Mrs. Mary WOOD, aged 82. 

 

Same day, at Egremont, Miss Mary GIBSON, milliner, aged 50. 

 

Monday last, at Kirkcudbright, --- JAMIESON, Esq. Paisley, to Miss BUSHBY, daughter of the late Thomas BUSHBY, Esq. collector of
customs at Kirkcudbright. 

 

In London, on Sunday last, aged 80, the noted Martin VON BUTCHELL, who had for many years attracted public notice by the
peculiarities of his long beard and his dress, his singular hand-bills, advertisements, &c. Among his other oddities he kept the
body of his first wife embalmed in a glass case. Though his surgery was more spacious than scientific, he is said to have been
originally an excellent surgeons' instrument-maker. 

 

Lately, at Mauhurst, in France, aged 115, John MOUSTIE. Until 24 hours before his death he never experienced any sickness.
