As most of the people on these lists have been on the now defunct Cumberland Rootsweb list, I am forwarding the email below which I received today about the death of Dennis Mawdsley, a former member of the Cumberland list.

As Rootsweb lists have now ceased to operate I imagine this is not really relevant, however I feel I need to let you know that Den (Stanley Dennis Mawdsley) a member of the Cumberland Rootsweb list passed away suddenly on 15th February having been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer in October. He was a non-drinker and a healthy man.  I am and never have been on the Cumberland list but perhaps you could let people on the old Cumberland list know that he's unable to respond to any new list for Cumberland. Or anyone else he's been in touch with on the list.
