In London, on the 11th ult. aged 65, Mr. Robert SIMS, hatter; a native of this place. 

 

On Sunday last, at Fingland, after a lingering illness, Ann, wife of Mr. John REID, aged 31; greatly respected by her acquaintance. 

 

At Biglands, near Wigton, on Sunday the 9th inst. lamented by all who knew the value of his character, Mr. Jacob COWEN, aged 21;
after a lingering indisposition, which he bore with that meek fortitude which is the characteristic of the true Christian. 

 

On Wednesday last, at Terril, near Penrith, Mr. Wm. SLEE, late Mathematical Teacher in the Grammar School in this city, aged 28. Mr.
SLEE's talents as a mathematician were of a very superior kind, and though early in life, he had attained a great proficiency in
many branches of science. His amiable manners and social disposition endeared him to a numerous and respectable set of friends, who
admired him for his various good qualities, and who sincerely lament his death as a loss which will not soon be supplied. 

 

Yesterday week, at Penrith, Mrs. WISEMAN, aged 53. 

 

A few days ago, at Maryport, Jane, wife of Mr. John NIXON, blacksmith. 

 

Same place, Ruth, wife of Mr. William SHAW, joiner. 

 

Same place, Barbara, wife of Mr. Jacob GILLESPY. 

 

Same place, Mrs. Dorothy WEDGEWOOD, a maiden lady. 

 

Saturday last, in Whitehaven, Mrs. Elizabeth ROBINSON, a maiden lady, at an advanced age. 

 

Same day and place, Mrs. Frances WILLIAMSON, widow, aged 98. 

 

The 22d ult. on his passage from Gottenburgh, Captain Benjamin KING, of the Halcyon, of Whitehaven. 

 

The 6th inst. in Newcastle, Mr. George CARRUTHERS, of Cruddick, near Carlisle. 

 

The 5th inst. Mr. John WALTON, of Gateshead, innkeeper. 

 

Sunday last, in Gateshead, Durham, aged 39, Mr. R. CAIL, grocer and spirit-dealer, much respected; son of Mr. CAIL, innkeeper,
Carlisle. 

 

The 1st inst. at Richmond, Yorkshire, aged 56, Captain and Adjutant SLEIGH, of the 1st North York Local Militia. 

 

At Dumfries, on Sunday, Mrs. Elizabeth SMITH, wife of Captain Wm. MacGUDOG. 

 

At the same place, yesterday week, Miss Jemina [sic] GRIVE, daughter of the late Mr. James GRIVE, wine merchant. 

 

Same place, on Saturday, aged 77, Mr. Wm. ROGERSON. 

 

Yesterday week, Mr. John COWAN, acting coast-waiter at Carsethorn, in the port of Dumfries.
